My Kanzashi

Kanzashi are traditional hair ornaments worn by maiko(apprentice Geisha). Instead of large and eleborate pieces of Kanzashi, I tried to simplify them for more modern and everyday usage.

As a Fabric Junkie and Origami Fan, discovery of Kanzashi is like finding the best of both world for me. The more I played with them and learned new tricks, the more I am addicted to them. I sometimes forgot the idea of sleep while digging into fabric basket and using up cups of glue. The outcomes, however, were well worth it.

I would like to share some of my designs in this blog. Please visit http://www.youtube.com/user/MyLoftCraft/videos .  I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy making them.
